Celebrating Joy and Unity: LWB’s Sports Day Event in Kolkata

Love Without Boundaries (LWB) India recently hosted a heartwarming sports day event at the ABIM centre in Noapara, Kolkata, on 29th of January 2024, providing a platform for students aged 3 to 11 to showcase their athletic talents. The event, held beside the old ABIM centre, was a collaborative effort involving teachers, school attendants, community members, and dedicated LWB staff.

The sports day commenced with an inspiring moment as children lined up, singing the national anthem with their teachers. It was a testament to the unity and spirit of the young participants. The event featured eight engaging games tailored to different age groups, with the students enthusiastically accompanied by their guardians. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, joy, and the spirit of healthy competition.

The games included a variety of fun and challenging activities such as the Orange in the basket race, chocolate race, Spoon and marble race, the Maths race, Biscuit race, throwing balls in the basket, 50 m race, and the exciting 100 m relay race. Each game aimed not only to entertain but also to empower teamwork, coordination, and friendly competition among the children.

During the break, food packets were distributed, ensuring that the young athletes had the energy to participate actively. The packets contained a delightful mix of cake, biscuits, banana, and a refreshing mango drink, adding a touch of nourishment to the day’s festivities.

The races kicked off with the enthusiastic sound of whistles blown by one of the teachers, signaling the start of each event. Teachers and staff members actively participated in ensuring the smooth flow of the games, contributing to the overall success of the event. The children, in turn, showcased their skills with zeal and determination, making every game a memorable experience.

As each race concluded, the children celebrated their achievements, clapping and cheering for one another. The supportive environment created during the sports day emphasized the importance of camaraderie and encouragement among the students.

The highlight of the event was the prize distribution ceremony held at the end of all the games. The students beamed with happiness as they received their well-deserved prizes, a tangible acknowledgment of their efforts and accomplishments.
