Meet Sania

Sania is a 9-year-old student at our Anand Believe In Me (ABIM) Center. Every day, her laughter and smile light up the entire center. She is not just a cheerful girl; but also one of the most diligent students. Sania loves going to school, meeting her friends, and engaging in both play and study. She considers the ABIM center, her second home, where she can study peacefully without any disturbances.

When she was asked about her likeness towards studying, she said, “I love studying every day, but the moment someone asks or commands me to study, I lose my interest in opening my books!” She shares with a twinkle in her eye that she would prefer having the freedom to study on her terms. Her mother, according to her, seems to want her to study whenever she is at home, which sometimes dampens her enthusiasm. “My mom wants me to study 24/7!” she giggles.

Sania’s home is filled with the love of her family. She lives with her parents, grandfather, maternal and paternal uncles and aunts, and their children. She adores her grandfather the most and cherishes his special attention like her cousins. “I love everyone in my family,” she says with a big smile, “but my grandfather is my favorite!”

Currently, Sania is mastering the art of drawing geometric figures and learning about perimeters. “I’m learning to draw squares and triangles, and figuring out their perimeters,” she says proudly. She also shares that she scored excellent marks in her final school exams last year. Her success extends to the ABIM center, where she also performed exceptionally well in the tests.

At school and the ABIM center, Sania is always ready to help her friends, often sharing her stationery so no one misses out on lessons. “I like helping my friends with their stationery,” she says. Her favorite subjects are Bengali and mathematics. Unlike many of her peers, she enjoys solving math problems. “Math is fun! I love solving problems,” she says enthusiastically. Sania dreams of growing up to be a doctor, dedicated to curing every patient who comes to her. “I want to be a doctor and help everyone who is sick,” she declares with determination.

In addition to her academic interests, Sania loves playing badminton with her friends. She’s often seen energetically jumping around with a racket in hand. Skipping and playing with Barbie dolls also bring her joy on occasion. “I love playing badminton and skipping. And sometimes, I play with my Barbie dolls too,” she adds with a laugh.

Sania’s vibrant personality and love for learning make her a cherished member of the ABIM center, inspiring everyone around her with her enthusiasm and kindness.
